2013 Mid-Pacific Institute School Trip

China Prep organized a trip for the Mid-Pacific Institue to Shanghai, Chengdu, and Jiuzhaigou. Students also traveled to their sister school in Renshou, Sichuan province.

2013 Collegiate School Trip

Collegiate School students will spend their spring break traveling to fast-paced modern Shanghai, the tea fields of Hangzhou, Chengdu, scenic Jiuzhaigou, and Hong Kong on a trip with urban and rural contrasts.

2012 Lake Forest Country Day Trip
February 21-25

For the second year, China Prep will organize a five-day trip to San Francisco for the 8th grade Chinese class at Lake Forest Country Day School. The group is excited to explore San Francisco's rich Chinese cultural offerings, including visits to art museums, Chinatown tours, and a visit to a Chinese immersion school.

2012 Collegiate School Trip
March 17-29

Students from Collegiate School will travel to Beijing, Yunnan, and Shanghai on this exciting spring break trip. This unique itinerary will give students a chance to experience several different aspects of China, including urban and rural differences, an introduction to China's ethnic minority groups, and the vast geographic variety in this expansive country.


2012 Hackley School Trip
March 17-30

China Prep will organize a spring break trip for the Hackley School to explore Shanghai and Xi'An. Students will build Chinese language skills and gain a wealth of cultural and historical knowledge while visiting the modern metorpolis of Shanghai and the historical sites of Xi'An, including the famed terracotta warriors.

 

2012 GLC-Asia Society Trip
April 7-17

For the third year, students form the Global Learning Collaborative, a member of the Asia Society's International Studies Schools Network, will travel to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou. Students will complete individual projects related to a wide range of cultural and historical themes while participating in a variety of experiential activities in these three cities.

2011 GLC-Asia Society Trip
April 16-26
China Prep led a second spring break trip for the Global Learning Collaborative, a member of the Asia Society's International Studies Schools Network. Students explored the sites and daily life in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou.

2010 China Highlights Trip
June 27-July 22
China Prep's flagship trip will travel this summer to Beijing, XiAn, Chengdu, Yangshuo, Longji, and Shanghai for a combination of cultural exploration, language study, sight seeing, and experiencing daily Chinese life.

2010 Brentwood School Trip
June 10-20
Brentwood School students from L.A. traveled on a 10-day summer trip with teachers and parents to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Students improved their Chinese language skills and explored the sights.

2010 Hewitt School Trip
March 19-29
The Hewitt School's spring break trip to China will travel to the capital city of Beijing, to Xi'An to visit the renowned Terracotta Warriors, and to Shanghai to experience a modern, international city in the midst of preparations for the World's Fair.

2010 GLC-Asia Society Trip
March 28-April 8
A China Prep-led spring break trip for the Global Learning Collaborative, a member of the Asia Society's International Studies Schools Network. Students on the trip will travel to Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai.

2009 Collegiate School Trip
March 13-27
China Prep led Collegiate School on a two-week spring break trip to China. We explored the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, the bustling capital of Beijing, and the verdant ancient capital of Hangzhou. The group discovered the history, arts, architecture, and sites through language activities.

2009 Four-Week China Highlights Trip
June 29-July 27
Our flagship high school travel program brought students to Beijing, Xi’An to see the Terracotta Warriors, Chengdu to visit the famous Panda Reserve, Yangshuo for iconic scenic views, Hangzhou to visit the home of China’s most famous green tea, and Shanghai.

2009 Groton School Trip
June 14-28
Summer school trip to China for the Groton School orchestra. Focused on music and service, the Groton school orchestra traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Anhui and Nanjing, including musical performances, service experiences, and visits to famous sites.

2008 Olympics Blog

Students traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hanghou while encountering China through a diverse range of themes, including arts, business, entertainment, and the environment.

2008 Asia Society International Studies Schools Network
June 29-July 21
For the Asia Society's second trip, students traveled again to Beijing, Shanghai, and Yunnan. Highlights included working on a Habitat for Humanity house in a rural village, exploring art galleries in Shanghai, shopping for tea in Kunming, and attending a cooking class in Beijing.

2007 Asia Society International Studies Schools Network
July 1-23
Students from this public high school network travled to Beijing, Shanghai, and Yunnan. Participants helped build a family a house through Habitat for Humanity, met with professionals in a variety of fields, and utilized their Chinese through a variety of hands-on activities.

Lifestyle Art Project
Fall 2007
Artist Steven Perkins joined the China Prep team on a journey to the Middle Kingdom to explore the modern developments of Shanghai, the culturally preserved Beijing and the ancient spiritual center of Hangzhou. The project resulted a series of 13 works of art on canvas.
