China Prep Spring Break 2009 Trip

China Prep brings students face-to-face with the realities of modern China.  Over the past thirty years, China has followed a trajectory of rising power and influence.  Because of this unparalleled growth, understanding China is essential to understanding the world today.  Our goal is to prepare young adults with the structure, tools, and confidence to embrace the future in a globalized world with China and the United States at its center.  To meet this goal, China Prep designs experiential tours to foster participants’ personal growth and to have a lasting impact on their views of China.

For Spring Break 2009 (March 14th-27th), China Prep will offer a unique learning experience through fourteen activity-packed days in China.  We will visit both the world-renowned sites and the back alleys of Shanghai, Beijing, and Hangzhou.  Participants will learn about China across a diverse range of themes including the arts, business, entertainment, and the environment, and they will meet professional individuals shaping China in these areas.  Through these interactions and daily life, participants will have opportunities to develop Mandarin language skills.  Experienced program leaders adjust language activities based on the skill level of the group, creating dynamic real-world situations for participants to build and utilize their Chinese.

Before departure China Prep will arrange an orientation session in New York to introduce Chinese history, language, and culture and provide participants with the opportunity to meet one of their program leaders.

China Prep is an independent, U.S.-based company with representatives in New York, Shanghai, and Beijing. Drawing on our own experiences in China and the U.S., we create unique programs to introduce highly motivated students to one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic nations in the world.
